501st Journal Code of Conduct Empty
PostSubject: 501st Journal Code of Conduct   501st Journal Code of Conduct Icon_minitimeMon Aug 27, 2007 9:21 pm

1. Use of inappropriate language will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, statements, images, usernames, and words that are sexual, vulgar, obscene, profane, defamatory, abusive, hateful, bigoted, or otherwise offensive to others; thinly-veiled obscenities (using alternate letters/symbols); harassment and verbal attacks intended to belittle, humiliate, threaten, or cause embarrassment to another Member; and material advocating or discussing illegal activities.

2. Members are not to post personal or confidential information about any other person, and are encouraged to exercise good judgment about revealing one’s own personal information.

3. We are not your billboard. No advertising, including business, auctions, or other commercial solicitation as the subject of a post or thread. Furthermore, no threads/posts dedicated to 'come visit my site!!' regardless of the purpose of the site (information, fun, financial gain). Only text links (no banner ads) in your personal signature may contain links to your website, auction list, or store. Keep all personal signatures tasteful and their size to a minimum in consideration of those with slower Internet connections as well as to maintain a neat and organized appearance for our forums. Size requirements may be found below. For the customs forums, you may post pictures or thumbnails of your customs, and if you have more images you'd like to share, directing people to your personal site will be allowed. Check the Buy/Sell/Trade forum Guidelines for rules specific to that forum only.

4. Postings intended to disrupt the boards will be removed immediately upon detection; multiple violations may result in administrative action. Such postings include, but are not limited to, spamming (multiple copies in one area or the same communication in multiple areas), off-topic threads, and using other Members’ names in subject headings or replies with derogatory intent. Off-topic threads which do not otherwise violate these guidelines will be relocated to the appropriate forum.

5. Embedding photos, pictures, artwork and links to other Internet sites is allowed within these stated guidelines. Pornographic photos and links to pornographic or otherwise offensive Internet sites will be removed immediately upon detection.

6. Members are responsible for the content of their posts. Management reserves the right to edit or delete any part of a Member’s post deemed inappropriate. However, Management does not guarantee that such action will be taken before an offensive post is viewed by others; users are forewarned that they may see inappropriate content before Management is available to act.

7. All rules apply equally to the use of the Private Messaging feature.

8. Evaluation of the appropriateness or offensiveness of any content is at the sole discretion of Management, based upon these stated guidelines. Management reserves the right to take whatever disciplinary action it deems appropriate for a given violation, including suspension or termination of a Member’s account.

9. Posts or links to posts containing stolen information will be removed immediately upon detection.

10. Signatures are limited to 4 lines of unformatted text, including links. A blank line is considered a line of text. If a user wishes to add an image to the signature, the signature may consist of the image plus 2 lines of unformatted text. The text may contain a link. The text must not stretch the browser window horizontally. The image can be no more than 235x60 (half-banner), meaning the width of the image should be no more than 235 pixels and that the height of the image should be no more than 60 pixels. The image cannot be an animated gif or flash content. The image file size must be less than 50kb.

The content of the signature and/or the image must not in any way portray, promote, advertise, link to, describe, or communicate in any way shape or form sin brands or illegal activity. Sin brands are defined as companies, logos, websites, or other entities where the main subject matter is tobacco, alcohol, firearms, and/or pornography. The content may not directly or indirectly describe the actions of using such sin brands or illegal activity.

Any user's signature violating these guidelines will be removed. Continued violations of the guidelines will result in a warning. Further violations will result in complete banning from fbtbforums.net.

11. Intentionally linking to viruses, adware, spyware, or other malicious content will result in immediate banning. In addition, when linking to outside content, the linked-to website must also display compliance to FBTBForum's rules in terms of violence and vulgarity.

12. Each member is allowed one user account. Any user found posting with multiple accounts, for any reason, will have all accounts permanently disabled and will not be allowed to return to regular forum activity again.
